Calhoun County Teacher of the Month - February 2020

Alabama Teachers Credit Union is proud to present Ms. Stephanie Phillips of Cobb Pre-K as our February 2020 Teacher of the Month for the Calhoun County area, in partnership with 979WVOK.
Ms. Phillips decided she wanted to become a teacher when she was five years of age during Dr. Seuss week1 She remembers vividly her teacher cooking the class "green eggs & ham" and thinking that was the most amazing thing in the world!
To Ms. Phillips, working with the children is the best part of her job, she loves being able to teach them skills that they can take forward with them. She makes learning fun by finding a kid's interest such as "trucks" or "dinosaurs" and incorporating that theme into the teaching subject. She believes the biggest challenges that schools face today is funding. Ms. Phillips is thankful for parent engagement in her classrooms and feels that it is one of the best ways the community can involve itself within the classroom.
