During our Annual Meeting, we announced that ATCU will soon become Emblem Credit Union. Our new name honors our educational roots, while moving us into a future focused on empowering all people to achieve financial wellbeing. An Emblem is a ‘mark of distinction’ and reflects our dedication to expanding our reach to serve more people across Alabama. Our solid reputation is a testament to our dedicated members of the past as well as our commitment to current and future members. This is to ensure we adapt and enhance our services to meet your individual financial needs.

Coming Fall 2024

We are extremely excited about our rebranding that will take place this fall. Until then, it is business as usual. We are here to assist you with any financial needs you may have. We will be providing details on any changes regarding our products and services. This is a good time to make sure your contact information is up to date by contacting your local office.

Why are we rebranding and changing our name?

As we grow and expand our communities, the name Alabama Teachers Credit Union no longer represents or captures our membership as it once did. Our new name, Emblem Credit Union honors our roots, while moving us into a future focused on empowering all people to achieve financial wellbeing. 

Is the credit union being sold or acquired?

Neither. We’re the same people, now with a bigger mission. If anything, our new brand is meant to reinforce our firm commitment to our members, communities, and employees.

What is changing?

Along with our name and logo, members will see a full visual system come to life, including vibrant new colors, patterns, and photography. We will continue to demonstrate our values, mission, and purpose, the cornerstones of our culture. We are not changing, just our name.

How will this affect members?

The new Emblem brand will not impact members' account information, the processes they follow or the level of service we provide. It simply reaffirms our dedication to current members and makes it easier for new members to join.

When will this new branding show up?

Our open house and official brand launch date is October 15, 2024. 

Will I still be able to use my checks? 

Yes, ATCU branded checks will still work. However, as you being reordering checks starting in October, the name and logo will be changed. 

Do I have to get a new debit/credit card? 

More information will come out soon about the rollout of new debit/credit cards

Will I have to download a new app? 

No. On October 15th, your app will require an update and it will change to Emblem branding. You will log in with your current ATCU credentials.
